Hiring a Day School Coordinator to Join Our Legal Team

Day School Claim Coordinator  

This is a term position up until July 2022 but may be extended. You will work in our office located in  downtown Parksville, BC. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.  

The firm has been in business for 25 years and has a reputation of exceptional client service and  dedication to our staff.  

As the first point of contact for Day School clients, you will bring a balance of professionalism and  tact when corresponding with clients.  

This position involves a variety of administrative and legal-specific tasks for which the ability to  change focus and prioritize duties is an asset.  

Job Duties  

Scheduling client appointments;  

Creating electronic and paper files;  

Sending forms to clients for signing:  

o Obtain client ID and complete verification form;  

o Send client agreements for signing;  

o Forward signed forms to Gowling WLG.  

Schedule client interview with lawyer;  

o Write up interview notes;  

o Send narratives to clients for approval.  

Complete application;  

o Obtain supporting documents;  

o Submit application;  

o Follow up on process and update client  

o Ensure payment is received.  


A high school diploma is required. You will have a minimum of 2 of years experience as an  administrative or legal assistant. Preference with formal office education or training and experience  in a law office. On-the-job training will be provided.  


Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to communicate with senior-level  lawyers, clients, staff, and others. Must also have the ability to operate telephone systems and office  equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, and copiers. Experience with video conferencing  equipment is a plus. Strong spelling and grammar skills are important for taking effective messages  and drafting correspondence/reports. Familiarity with legal terms and jargon and an understanding of  various office forms and legal documents is preferred. Must also be familiar with Microsoft Outlook  and Word.

Hours of Work  

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Some overtime may be required.  


Competitive wage, depending on experience.
